Our Story
Small-Scale Family Farm
Since 2021
We are Julie & Socrates Carrillo, your farmers at Heart & Sol Coastal Farm. We are also parents, foodies, gardeners, design fanatics, serial renovators, and perpetual
learners.

We farm on 5 acres on this un-ceded territory of the Shíshálh Nation, also known as Sechelt. This land inspires us, with its glorious views of the Sechelt Inlet and the Tetrahedron mountain. Sol in Spanish means sun, and we love that our farm name recognizes both our family's Mexican heritage and the beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC.

We farm using regenerative agriculture and permaculture principles, and do not use chemical pesticides or herbicides in our garden. We grow a wide variety of produce during the growing season, and sell eggs from free-range happy hens and microgreens year-round. We sell many products made from farm-fresh ingredients, and specialize in authentic Mexican salsas. We also raise a small flock of sheep, and breed registered Miniature Babydoll Southdown Sheep.

Our vision for this land is to create a beautiful space that inspires a connection with nature. We are passionate about healthy, local, and delicious food, and want to share that love with you, our community.

Eat local. Eat delicious.
